HAMRA supports women-owned and women-led businesses with digital access, market visibility and practical support.

Building opportunity through visibility and participation

Across Afghanistan, women contribute skills, knowledge, creativity and entrepreneurship to their families and communities. Yet many women entrepreneurs face barriers to making their businesses visible, reaching customers, developing professional networks and accessing market opportunities.

HAMRA believes that supporting women’s economic participation is an important part of building stronger and more inclusive communities.

As a women-led Afghan company, HAMRA seeks to contribute by creating practical pathways through which women-owned and women-led businesses can increase their visibility and participate in the digital marketplace.

From a business idea to a visible digital presence

For many small businesses, being discoverable is an important first step toward reaching customers.

HAMRA’s Women-Led Businesses programme provides a pathway through which eligible women-owned and women-led businesses can register and, following verification, establish a digital presence on the HAMRA platform.

Participating businesses can create profiles describing their businesses, products and services and develop online product or service listings. This gives potential customers another way to discover local women entrepreneurs and understand what they offer.

HAMRA also supports market visibility through appropriate digital communications, business stories, promotional content and other communication channels.

Building skills alongside visibility

Digital access alone does not address every challenge facing an entrepreneur. Women business owners may also benefit from practical knowledge, peer connections and opportunities to strengthen how they present and manage their businesses.

HAMRA’s approach therefore recognizes the importance of capacity building and practical orientation. Depending on identified needs and available programme resources, support may cover areas such as digital literacy, creating and maintaining a business profile, presenting products and services effectively, customer engagement, basic digital marketing and use of the HAMRA platform.

Peer learning can also create valuable opportunities for women entrepreneurs to exchange experiences, discuss common challenges and learn from one another.

Gender equality benefits communities

Promoting gender equality is not only about individual businesses. When women have meaningful opportunities to participate economically, their knowledge, services and entrepreneurial activity become more visible within their communities.

HAMRA therefore views women’s economic participation as part of a broader commitment to inclusion, dignity and equitable access to opportunity.

Our goal is practical: help make women-led businesses more visible, more connected and better able to participate in available market opportunities.
